NEW CD - Elisabeth Zapolska

Elisabeth Zapolska is a Polish opera singer and philologist, based in France, long engaged in the promotion of Polish culture and female authors. She is President of the Maria Szymanowska Society founded in Paris on her initiative.
In 2011, in a world premier with Bart van Oort - on a 1825 Broadwood piano - she recorded Ballades and Romances by Maria Szymanowska (CD published by Acte Préalable). They have teamed up again and recently their new CD: Romance à Josephine - Women's Songs in Maria Szymanokska's time was sent to us! Of course with music by Maria Szymanowska, but also world premier recordings of music by La Reine Hortense, Maria Theresa von Paradis, Hélène de Montgeroult, among others.
Elisabeth Zapolska, mezzo-soprano, and forte pianist Bart van Oort (a Viennese Zierer piano anno 1825) recreate the atmosphere of an artistic fair of the time that allowed the musicians and the audience to enjoy a pleasant moment of sharing and discovery.
